Roots

Christian churches and churches of Christ trace their modern origins to the early 19th century. A mutual animosity was coming up between the various denominations. Groups of Christians in various states, individually, decided to strive for unity. This movement became the Restoration Movement. Their goal was to model the church from the pages of the New Testament.

Position

We are a Christian church: Our message is that "Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God"

A church of Christ: The church belongs to Him.

A church seeking unity: Members of the church see to be one in Christ .

A church seeking to restore: As much as possible, we imitate the New Testament precedents.

An apostolic church: The church is built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone

A thinking church: Christian faith demands the best our minds can give, so we are a studying church, seeking to apply biblical truth intelligently.

A feeling church: We rejoice, praise, pray, love and serve from the heart.

A sharing church: We share our faith and love with as many as we can reach.

A free church: We have no national headquarters. Our churches are independent, but we do freely associate with one another.

A growing church: We want to grow, because we are under Christ's commission to disciple the world.
